RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support members, visitors and guests by providing professional, accurate and timely response to inquiries via phone, in-person, and email on a wide range of topics including:
o Membership value proposition, membership levels
o New member information
o Dues and fees payments
o Classes, events and meetings – information and enrollment/sign up
o Department of Commerce rules and regulations
o Code of Ethics inquiries
o Minnesota Association and National Association services
• Strive for one-touch resolution
• Problem solve issues that arise using documentation and departmental resources
• Provide friendly, calm, professional demeanor. De-escalate situations involving dissatisfied members offering patient assistance and support
• Utilize technology to address member needs. Current technologies and systems include:
• Collaborate with other staff and key stakeholders to support continuous improvement in customer service
• Responsible for special projects or areas of focus as needed by the department
• Engage in the organization’s mission and values.
• Collaborate with MAR staff by valuing people, teamwork, relationships, and wellbeing.
Minimum Qualifications
• At least 2 years administrative, customer service or call center work experience.
• Excellent phone skills and ability to listen empathically and problem solve.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Communicates with candor and care
• Ability to analyze and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
• Strong customer centric orientation.
• Organized and detail oriented
• Technology skills
o Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and Outlook)
o Prior experience with (or ability to learn) phone software
o Prior experience with (or ability to learn) a CRM
• Has cultural fluency and understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the industry and the workplace.
• Takes a solution-based approach to overcoming challenges and remains resilient.
• Ability to meet challenging situations and unsatisfied customers with calm and patience.

HOURS/LOCATION
This position is full-time mostly on-site at MAR’s office building: 5750 Lincoln Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55436. Some travel may be required using personal transportation reimbursable for mileage within the five-county region we serve: Hennepin, Scott, Carver, Sibley and McLeod Counties. Hours to start are Monday – Friday 8:00 – 4:30. Remote work up to 1 day a week is an option after initial training period is complete.
